While Coinbase is ideal for beginners in crypto, Coinbase Pro is mainly meant for experienced traders. It was launched in January 2015 by Brian Armstrong and Fred Ehrsam. Branded as Global Digital Asset Exchange (GDAX) at its beginning, it was renamed Coinbase Pro in 2018.
The interface is a bit raw, but efficient to use for experimental traders. It won’t be ideal for beginners.
Coinbase Pro offers the same services as Coinbase with more details, and some additional services.
You will find more than hundred cryptocurrencies; this is much more than Coinbase.
Security is strong, and insurance is there if needed.
The platform is operational most of the time but can have some problems during very high traffic.
The fees, remaining above the market average, are already more interesting than on Coinbase. They are decreasing according to your trading volume.
