The Fantom Foundation was created by the south korean Dr. Ahn Byung, who supervises it since its creation, on October 30, 2018. He is also the one behind the Lachesis protocol, which combines a DAG (Directed Acrylic Graph) and a BFT system, allowing the Fantom network to run at near full power, even with a tier of faulty nodes. Subsequently, the project became Binance Smart Chain (BSC) compatible in May 2019. The foundation is now managed by David Richardson, former CEO of Mid-Ocean Consulting, and Michael Kong. They work alongside Andre Cronje (creator of Yearn.finance), particularly for his expertise in decentralized finance (DeFi).
